Counselling & Psychotherapy

Through Counselling & Psychotherapy we focus more on gaining insight into chronic physical and emotional problems. Its focus is on the person's thought-processes, and how these may be influenced by past events such that they cause problems in the present.

In other words, Counselling & Psychotherapy addresses the root cause and core issues of current problems so that lasting change and personal growth may occur.

Our Approach

As a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, Áine strongly believes in and is guided by the principles of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy. Áine believes that every client has a choice, responsibility and creativity to bring about their own healing and move towards wholeness. She respects the unique and subjective world of the client, and recognises that the client is a whole and dynamic person living out their current level of integration through their body, mind, feelings and spirit.

Áine is committed to journeying alongside her clients to illuminate what may be standing in the way of their giving expression to their true selves. What is more, Áine also believes that as we connect more with our inner landscape we have the potential to come in contact with a depth that transcends our own individuality.

In order to deepen the therapeutic process and move towards the active exploration of the client’s experience, Áine uses a variety of approaches including Psychodynamic, Process Oriented Psychotherapy, Gestalt, Energy Therapy Technique, Dream Work, Imagery, Post-Traumatic Stress, shock & trauma and Art Work.
